Chemical Peels

A peel is one of the few treatments where you get to decide how much downtime you are willing to trade for how much correction. Our customized chemical peels gently resurface the skin to reveal a brighter, smoother complexion, improving uneven tone, texture, acne scarring, and sun damage. With varying depths available, treatments are tailored to your goals and to what your schedule can realistically accommodate, whether that means a light refresh before an event or a more corrective series.
How Chemical Peels Work
A solution of acids is applied to the skin to loosen the bonds holding dead and damaged cells at the surface. Those cells shed over the following days, and the skin underneath is newer, more evenly pigmented, and better organized. Deeper peels reach further into the skin and trigger a stronger collagen response.
Peel Depths
Superficial
A light refresh with a day or two of mild flaking at most. Ideal before an event or as regular maintenance every four to six weeks.
Medium
Reaches deeper for meaningful correction of pigment, texture, and acne scarring. Expect visible peeling for roughly three to seven days.
What Peels Address
- Sun damage and uneven pigmentation
- Active acne and post acne marks
- Fine lines and rough texture
- Enlarged pores and congestion
- Dullness and lack of radiance
- Melasma, with careful product selection
What to Expect
Your provider will assess your skin, your history of pigment concerns, and your schedule before selecting a formulation. Peeling is not always dramatic, and the absence of visible flaking does not mean the treatment did not work. Sun protection afterward is non negotiable, particularly in the desert.

Is a Chemical Peel Right for You?
Peels work on the surface and upper layers of the skin, which makes them well suited to tone, clarity, and congestion. Depth is selected around both your concern and your calendar.
- Sun damage and uneven pigmentation
- Active acne and the marks left behind by past breakouts
- Fine lines and rough texture
- Enlarged pores and congestion
- Dullness and lack of radiance
- Melasma, with careful product selection and assessment
When We Would Suggest Something Else
Peels do not address volume loss, muscle driven lines, or significant laxity. Deep textural scarring generally responds better to microneedling. Active cold sores, broken skin, and recent isotretinoin use are all reasons to postpone. If you have a history of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, we will assess carefully and may pre treat your skin before proceeding, because the wrong peel on the wrong skin causes exactly the problem you came to fix.

Before and After Your Peel
Stop retinoids and exfoliating acids for around five days beforehand, and avoid sun and self tanner for two weeks. Afterward, let the skin shed on its own. Picking or pulling at peeling skin is the single most common cause of scarring and pigment problems after a peel. Wait at least twenty four hours before makeup, longer for medium depth. Sun protection is non negotiable, particularly in the desert. Be aware that peeling is not always dramatic, and the absence of visible flaking does not mean the treatment did not work.
Booking at AREA
Your provider assesses your skin, your pigment history, and your schedule before selecting a formulation, so the peel you receive is chosen at the appointment rather than booked blind. Every four to six weeks during a corrective series, then quarterly for maintenance, is the usual pattern. Booking at least a week before any event is suggested. A fifty dollar appointment reservation fee is assessed at the time of booking and will be deducted from the services provided as defined in our policies.

FAQ
FAQs

How much will I peel?
It depends on the depth selected. Superficial peels may cause light flaking for a day or two, while medium peels typically peel visibly for three to seven days.
Are peels safe for darker skin tones?
Yes, with appropriate formulation and pre treatment. Your provider will assess your pigment history carefully before selecting a peel.
How often should I have a peel?
Every four to six weeks during a corrective series, then quarterly for maintenance.
Can I wear makeup afterward?
We recommend waiting at least twenty four hours, and longer for medium depth peels while the skin is actively shedding.
How much will this treatment cost?
At Area Hydration & Aesthetics, every treatment plan is customized to you, which is why we do not publish standard pricing.
