Microneedling

Acne scarring is the concern we hear about most often from people who have tried everything topical and run out of options. Microneedling is where that usually changes. By creating tiny micro channels in the skin, it triggers your own healing process and drives collagen and elastin production, which smooths fine lines, softens wrinkles, and restores a firmer look. It also improves texture, reduces acne scarring and enlarged pores, and brightens uneven tone caused by sun damage or hyperpigmentation. Safe for most skin types, with minimal downtime.
The Healing Response
A cartridge of fine sterile needles creates controlled micro injuries in the skin at a depth selected for your concern and treatment area. These channels close quickly, but the healing cascade they trigger continues for weeks, producing new collagen and elastin. The skin rebuilds itself thicker, smoother, and more even than before.
What It Treats
- Acne scarring and textural irregularity
- Fine lines and early wrinkles
- Enlarged pores
- Uneven tone and hyperpigmentation
- Stretch marks and body scarring
- Overall skin laxity and thinning
Enhanced Product Absorption
The micro channels created during treatment dramatically increase absorption of anything applied to the skin immediately afterward. This is why microneedling pairs so effectively with PRP, growth factor serums, and other targeted actives, and why we are selective about what goes on the skin during and after your session.
Treatment Series and Aftercare
A series of three to six sessions spaced four to six weeks apart delivers the strongest results, particularly for acne scarring. Expect redness resembling a moderate sunburn for twenty four to forty eight hours. Avoid active skincare, makeup, and sun exposure for the first day or two, and use diligent sun protection throughout your series.

Is Microneedling Right for You?
Microneedling is a structural treatment. It rebuilds the skin rather than resurfacing what sits on top, which makes it the strongest non ablative option for concerns that live in the texture of the skin itself.
- Acne scarring, particularly rolling and boxcar scarring
- Enlarged pores and rough or irregular texture
- Fine lines and early crepiness
- Uneven tone and hyperpigmentation
- Stretch marks and scarring on the body
- Darker skin tones, where light based treatment carries more pigment risk
When to Wait
Active, inflamed acne is a reason to postpone, since needling through a breakout can spread bacteria and worsen things. Active cold sores, open wounds, and certain skin conditions also mean waiting. If you are on isotretinoin or have been recently, tell us, because timing matters. We would rather move your appointment than treat skin that is not ready.

Before and After Your Treatment
Stop retinoids and exfoliating acids for three to five days beforehand and avoid sun exposure. A topical numbing cream is applied at the start of your appointment, so arrive with clean skin and allow extra time for it to take effect. Expect redness resembling a moderate sunburn for twenty four to forty eight hours, with possible light flaking on day three or four. No makeup, active skincare, exercise, or sun for the first day or two, and diligent sun protection throughout your series.
Booking at AREA
Three to six sessions spaced four to six weeks apart delivers the strongest results, with acne scarring generally needing the higher end of that range. Many clients add PRP, since the micro channels allow it to absorb deeply and amplify the collagen response from both treatments. A fifty dollar appointment reservation fee is assessed at the time of booking and will be deducted from the services provided as defined in our policies.
