Signature Facials
A facial should do more than feel pleasant, though ours certainly do. Every signature facial at Area Hydration & Aesthetics begins with an assessment of your skin on the day, because skin changes with season, stress, hormones, and product use. Your provider then selects the cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, and active steps that address what your skin actually needs right now, and can layer in targeted enhancements such as dermaplaning, LED, or microdermabrasion where they will add something.
Built Around Your Skin
Rather than a fixed protocol applied identically to everyone, our facials are assembled from a set of steps chosen for you. Someone with congestion and active breakouts receives a very different treatment from someone whose primary concern is dehydration and dullness, even though both appointments are booked under the same name.

Enhancements You Can Add
These are not upsells for their own sake. Each one does something particular, and your provider will recommend only the enhancements that make sense for your skin rather than suggesting all of them.
Dermaplaning
A sterile blade removes dead surface cells and vellus hair, the fine soft hair sometimes called peach fuzz. Skin is left noticeably smoother, makeup sits better, and product absorption improves. Contrary to a persistent myth, the hair does not grow back thicker or darker.
LED Therapy
Specific wavelengths of light penetrate the skin to different depths. Blue light targets acne causing bacteria, while red light reduces inflammation and supports collagen production. LED is entirely painless and adds about twenty minutes to your appointment.
High Frequency
A glass electrode delivers a gentle current that produces oxygen at the skin surface. It has antibacterial properties useful for acne prone skin, and it improves circulation to the treated area.
Galvanic Therapy
Uses a mild direct current in two phases. The first softens and loosens sebum within congested pores to aid extraction, and the second drives water soluble actives deeper into the skin.
Microdermabrasion
Mechanical exfoliation using controlled abrasion and suction. It refines surface texture, softens the look of pores, and works particularly well on skin that is thickened or rough rather than sensitive.
Which Enhancement Fits Your Skin?
Request the ones that interest you when you book so we can allow the time. You do not need to be certain, since your provider will confirm the choice once your skin has been assessed, but here is roughly how they map to concerns.
- Rough surface texture or makeup that sits badly points to dermaplaning
- Active breakouts or inflammation points to LED, blue and red respectively
- Acne prone or congested skin points to high frequency
- Stubborn congestion needing easier extraction points to galvanic
- Thickened, rough, or weathered skin points to microdermabrasion
Layering too many enhancements into a single session overworks the skin without adding benefit, and in some cases makes things worse. One or two per visit is typical. If a provider suggests fewer than you expected, that is a deliberate clinical call rather than an oversight.

The skin turns over roughly every four to six weeks, which is why that interval is the standard recommendation for regular facials. Clients working through active concerns like congestion or pigment often start with a tighter schedule and then move to maintenance.

Is a Signature Facial Right for You?
A signature facial is the right starting point for almost anyone, and it is where we usually suggest beginning if you are not sure what your skin needs. The assessment at the start of the appointment does the diagnostic work for you.

What a Facial Will Not Fix
Facials maintain and improve skin health over time. They will not remove deep wrinkles, correct significant sun damage, or resolve established acne scarring. If that is your goal, your provider will tell you during the assessment and recommend the corrective treatment that will, whether that is a peel series, microneedling, or laser.
Before and After Your Facial
Come with clean skin if convenient, though it is not essential since we double cleanse at the start. Stop retinoids for a couple of days beforehand, particularly if extractions or dermaplaning are likely. Avoid booking a first facial within a week of an event, in case your skin purges. Most enhancements add ten to twenty minutes to your appointment. Afterward, skip makeup for the rest of the day if you can, avoid heat and strenuous exercise for a few hours, and wear sun protection, since enhanced skin is more receptive to product and more sensitive to sun.
Booking at AREA

Clients working through active concerns often start on a tighter schedule and move to maintenance once things settle. Please request any enhancements at the time of booking, since they need extra time in the schedule and we cannot guarantee a same day addition. If you decide during your appointment, your provider will add what the remaining time allows and we can schedule the rest for your next visit. A fifty dollar appointment reservation fee is assessed at the time of booking and will be deducted from the services provided as defined in our policies.

No. Vellus hair regrows exactly as it was. The blunt cut edge can feel slightly different at first, but the hair itself is unchanged.
Will I have extractions?
Only where appropriate. Your provider will assess whether extractions will help or irritate your skin on the day.
How much will this treatment cost?
